  • Taiko Workshop

    What's included

    • 1 hour workshop to teach you the art of the Japanese Drum (Taiko), taught by a Taiko master from one of the most revered Taiko schools: the "Sukeroku Daiko" school.

    • Learn how to play a true Taiko song from zero experience.

    • Shower room is available. (Towel, clothes and soaps are not provided)

    • All in English.

    • You can choose 1 course from the 3 courses below: 

      • BEGINNER : SUKEROKU DAIKO (Tokyo style)

      • MIDDLE : YOSAKOI (Kochi style)

         

      • ADVANCED : EISA (Okinawan style)

    Shamisen & Koto Workshop

    ​What's included

    • 1 hour workshop of playing Shamisen (Japanese 3 string guitar), and Koto (Japanese harp) led by the master from one of the most renowned schools in Japan: the "Oyama" school.

    • Learn how to play a Shamisen and Koto song from zero experience.

    • All in English.

    Meet with the guide or master at Edogawa-bashi station on the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line.

     

    Workshop

    Learn how to play Taiko with the masters!

     

    Shower

    Take a shower and wash off the sweat.

     

    Move

    If you have the Shamisen Workshop after the Japanese Drum Workshop, you will move to the next venue by taxi. (Taxi fee is included in the price)

    If you have the Japanese Drum Workshop after the Shamisen Workshop, you will move to the next venue by taxi. (Taxi fee is included in the price)

  • How does it work?

    • Both workshops will take place at the masters' own residence.

    • We create the itinerary based on your inquiries, and will inform you of the schedule as soon as possible.

    • On a typical day, you will go to the first workshop and spend 1 hour there, then move to the second venue by taxi (the cost of the taxi is included) for about 20 minutes, and spend another 1 hour at the second workshop.

    • You may take a shower after the Japanese Drum Workshop.

    • The order of the workshops will depend on the masters’ schedule.

        • Edogawa-bashi station on Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line.
